STEEL TARGETS IN KNOCK DOWN/SWINGER FORMAT


Categories:

1. Single Shot Rifle Class - typical types: Sharps, Ballard, Browning High Wall, Remington Rolling Block, Springfield Trapdoor. All types must have exposed hammers.

2. Lever Action Rifle Class - typical types: Marlin, Winchester, Browning in rifle calibers.

3. Lever Action Pistol Class - typical types: Marlin, Winchester, Browning in pistol calibers.

Calibers and Bullet Requirements:

1. Minimum of .375 caliber and bullet weight of 300 grains or larger. Typical calibers used in Single Shot Rifle Class are: 38-55; 40-65; 45-70; 45-90; 45-110; 45-120; 50-70; 50-100; 50-110. Typical calibers used in Lever Action Rifle Class are: 30-30; 38-55; 40-65:45-70. Typical calibers used in Lever Action Pistol Class are: 38; 38-40; 44-40; 45 Long Colt.

2. In all classes, the bullet must be of lead alloy, cast or swaged. No jacketed bullets or gas checks allowed.

3. Blackpowder or blackpowder substitutes such as Pyrodex, Clearshot, etc. are allowed. Smokeless powder is allowed if loaded to blackpowder equivalent velocities. Duplex loads are not allowed.

4. Paper patched bullets are allowed if cast or swaged lead alloy.

5. The only approved sights are iron sights of a design consistent with those used prior to 1895. Optically enhanced sights are not allowed.

6. Lever rifles will be loaded with one round; no rounds are allowed in the magazine.

7. Safety: Eye protection is mandatory at all times on all ranges. Hearing protection is mandatory on the firing line. Spotters may remove their glasses only when actively spotting.
