22 STEEL CHALLENGEFEBRUARY 2012  Weather? What weather? We didn’t have no steenkin’ weather.  The February 22 Steel Challenge got off to a later start this month.  Was it good or bad?  Your comments will tell us the outcome so let Tom know how you feel about it.

Nineteen fun loving 22 shooters signed up to blast away at the large and larger targets and to see just how fast and accurate they could be.  Some succeeded and some could have if they could get the bugs worked out of either their guns or the ammo.  OK guys which is it?  Guns or Ammo?

Ole’ Cantankerous Tom (what a name) has begged and borrowed enough covers so that when it threatens to rain we will have “you covered” so don’t let the rain stop you from attending a 22 Steel Challenge match because of a little bad weather.

It sure is a pleasure to see the “kids” turning out to shoot this game.  Fathers are bringing their sons and Grandfathers are bringing their Grandsons and I sure hope the Fathers and Grandfathers are not going home depressed.  P-P-P-P Peck what happened?  He is so small.  There is a difference in scores of 70 seconds and Walker placed 7th in class.  WOW!!!!!  The Father and Son team of Dockery’s can call it even. Maybe.  Dad placed 4th in class and Son also placed 4th in his class.

Badlands Bob came by just to take the title away from Jeff Allen but ole’ Jeff let work interfere with fun.  Too bad Jeff, now we won’t know who really is the fastest cowboy in town.

We want to thank all of you who showed up to set up on Friday and those who stayed late to tear down and put up the targets.  A big “Thank YOU” goes out to Breezy for acquiring the Gator for the small disciplines to use.  It sure came in handy.  Let’s all give Ole’ Tom Butner a big pat on the back for doing such a good job as shoot coordinator for 22 steel challenger.  Tom saved the program by volunteering for the job.  He is writing the stages and directing the program on a day to day basis and doing a great job.  Thanks Tom.
